"25 Regrets of the Life" by Dr. Shuichi Otsu

So this was a big hit in Korea last year or the year before that. It was a bestseller for like a whole year. I didn't actually buy the book because although it had some nice black and white photos, the actual content could just be referenced from the 25 headings the author suggested.

OK then. Here's the list:

1. To have said appreciative words to loved ones
2. To have done what they REALLY loved doing
3. To have been more humble
4. To have been kinder
5. To NOT have done BAD things
6. To have had a Vision and to strive to make the Vision come true
7. To NOT have been influenced so much by emotions
8. To have met the people they wanted to meet
9. To have had a memorable love relationship
10. To NOT have worked themselves to death
11. To have traveled to places they wanted
12. To have revisited their hometowns
13. To have tasted lots of delicious food
14. To have married
15. To have had offsprings
16. To have married off the offsprings
17. To have planned in advance their inheritance
18. To have planned their funeral
19. To have left a record of their life
20. To have pondered deeply about the meaning of life and death
21. To have valued their health
22. To have quit smoking sooner
23. To have made their dying wishes when they were healthier
24. To have regarded their treatment more earnestly
25. To have had the insights from religious beliefs

So, what resonates for you now?
I definitely had a couple that touched a chord in me. Some made me laugh. Some felt weightier and deeper. :-)

* 25 Things People Regret When Faced With Death by a Japanese Hospice Who Witnessed 1,000 Patients' Deaths -- This was the 'Sales Tag' that caught my attention in the first place at the time~ ^^

Below are the cover and inside black and white photography that were used for the Korean edition. Now that I'm writing about it, I wonder if the Japanese original had the same design...! ^^??

Happy planning the last days of your life!
